Abstract
The story based on a first-hand account of a woman who was enslaved when she was 9 years old. The story starts in Vietnam during the Vietnam War which was the event that led her to be trapped as a slave for 20 years. The story then continues to the United States when she, and the family she lived with could move away from the war. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona in an all Caucasian neighborhood.
