Abstract
A study examining six poems authored by English courtier Sir Walter Ralegh, chosen for their focus on love and the alleged courtship of Ralegh and Queen Elizabeth I. The study also identifies documented attributes of an English courtier and tracks the rise of Ralegh in the English court, his subsequent imprisonment and exile, eventual pardon and return to court.
