Abstract
Despite the effectiveness of vaccination programs in the United States, pertussis continues to occur among all age groups. Vaccination continues to be the most effective strategy for preventing pertussis. Prevention efforts should aim at maintaining high childhood vaccination rates and promoting adolescent and adult vaccination programs.
