Abstract

Peripheral populations of C. t. tigris and C. t. gracilis contacted one another a short distance S of Lake Mead at Detrital Wash, Mohave Co., with a pronounced shift from phenotypes across a distance of 16 km. Free range expansion of the relatively small population of C. t. tigris is effectively blocked to the W, N and E by physiographic features, and to the S by suboptimal habitat and the population of C. t. gracilis. -from Author
